Improving Academic Achievement of Migrant Students
Conexiones is an academic outreach program that seeks to increase the academic performance of migrant students. We serve students whose parents are migratory workers and their mobility is not by choice, but by necessity because their parents must seek temporary or seasonal employment in agriculture, fishing, dairy farms, or related industries.
Conexiones is coordinated through Arizona State University; it is a federally funded initiative administered through the Arizona Department of Education, Migrant Education Unit. Through partnerships with school districts throughout Arizona, we have established a network of teachers, trainers, and administrators focused on improving academic achievement in migrant students.
