Individual research seed grants are platforms to support and enhance existing faculty expertise and/or to examine the changing needs and growing cultural, political, environmental, and economic influence of Latinos/as and transborder communities in the US-Mexico borderlands.

Research Cluster Grants

The research clusters are mechanisms for triggering discussion that lead to exchange, cross-fertilization and collaboration across disciplines. Research clusters are platforms to support and enhance existing faculty expertise and/or facilitate the engagement of faculty to examine the changing needs and growing cultural, political, environmental, and economic influence of Latinos/as and transborder communities in the US-Mexico borderlands.

When you study in the School of Transborder Studies at Arizona State University, you’ll deepen your understanding and appreciation of the Chicana/o and Latina/o experience in the United States/Mexico borderlands. You’ll explore the concerns, social problems, health inequalities and political issues that influence these communities and their respective nations of origin. As you broaden your perspective of transborder studies, you’ll become an agent of social change who’s eager to find solutions for the problems facing Mexican origin and Latina/o communities.
