The Accelerated Master’s Program in Transborder Studies offers highly committed undergraduate students the option to combine undergraduate degree requirements with graduate coursework, resulting in faster degree completion. The following undergraduate programs are part of the accelerated program with the Master of Advanced Study (MAS) in Transborder Studies:
BA, Transborder Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies
BA, Transborder Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies (Media and Expressive Culture)
BA, Transborder Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies (Transborder Community Development and Health)
BA, Transborder Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies (U.S. and Mexican Regional Immigration Policy and Economy)

Eligibility Requirements:
Student has completed at minimum, 75 credit hours towards their bachelor’s degree in a program listed above at the time of application
Student has completed at minimum, 6 credit hours in TCL coursework
Minimum 3.00 overall cumulative GPA
Minimum 3.25 GPA in TCL coursework/major
Application Process
The application deadline is the end of session A (either fall or spring semester) to begin as an accelerated student the following semester. The student must have at least one semester left as an undergraduate student at the time of application.
Steps to Apply:
Student meets with the undergraduate advisor to ensure eligibility
Student completes the Accelerated Program Agreement form by the end of session A (fall or spring semester)
If approved, student will be notified by email
Student will enroll in graduate courses and plan the shared classes for the undergraduate and graduate program in consultation with the undergraduate and graduate advisor
Student will formally apply to the MAS program in Transborder Studies once the application cycle is available for the master’s program. Items to submit:
Graduate admissions application and application fee
Unofficial or official ASU transcript
Personal statement (1-2 pages)
Include research interests, possible faculty advisor within STS
Writing sample (research/creative paper from a class)
Resume/CV
Three letters of recommendation (one must be from a faculty member in the School of Transborder Studies)
